Solidarity and gratitude are, among all the values, the ones that humanize us the most and bring us closer. These can be reflected in a handshake, a hug, a smile or in words full of affection, as is the case of the Communal Llama Guild of Calca and Lares, in Cusco, who thanked with great joy the donation of cooking pots from W Capital SAFI.
W Capital SAFI, a company dedicated to the development of investment funds that aim to the real estate development and private capital, joined the “Cooking a better life” campaign, which recognizes the Cusco communities for praising the cultural and economic value of the llamas. In this way, the kind heart of the members of this organization provided solidarity support to the communities of these high Andean areas.
Cooking pot delivery
The pots were delivered through the Wiese Foundation in coordination with ADRA, a non-profit organization allied with the foundation. While the delivery was taking place, joy overflowed the faces of men, women, and children who will leave the clay containers to cook their food in stainless steel pots.
“These cooking pots are the perfect complement to get the most out of the improved kitchens received in November, thanks to the contribution of the Wiese Foundation, in recognition of the work we do in partnership with the Civil Association Llama Pack Project,” reads the statement of the Communal Llama Guild.
Wiese Foundation Humanitarian Aid Program
The “Cooking a better life” campaign, which is part of the Wiese Foundation Humanitarian Aid Program, consists of the construction and installation of certified improved kitchens in 74 homes in the high Andean communities of Calca and Lares in the Cusco region, as well as the training in proper use and maintenance, in order to contribute to a better life quality. The delivery of the cooking pots is the ideal complement to this program, which has changed the lives of the families of the mentioned communities.
