Fundación Wiese launches new humanitarian aid campaign for Cusco inhabitants
  • This initiative aimed to promote health care for vulnerable families in Urubamba and Canchis, in Cusco.

The “Juntos por tu Bienestar” campaign was carried out in partnership with Fundación Niños del Arco Iris, Adra Perú, and Asociación Red Suma.

After over two years of prioritizing the care of patients infected with COVID-19, health establishments have started to gradually resume care for other diseases unrelated to the virus, facing a large backlog of cases. Additionally, areas far from major cities lack access to medical specialties in local health centers.

This challenging situation disproportionately affects vulnerable people with non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and cancer, which also constitute risk factors for COVID-19. The “Juntos por tu Bienestar” campaign was supported by Fundación Niños del Arco Iris, Adra Perú, and Asociación Red Suma.

Who did we help?

In this context, and as part of its Humanitarian Aid Program, Fundación Wiese organized—along with Fundación Niños del Arco Iris, Adra Perú, and Asociación Red Suma—the implementation of three health campaigns in the provinces of Urubamba, Calca, and Canchis in the Cusco region. The goal was to promote health care and provide medical attention to over 1,000 vulnerable people from around 15 communities.

The health campaigns were held on August 20, 21, and 24 and offered six medical specialties:

  • Pediatrics
  • Gastroenterology
  • Dermatology
  • Obstetrics
  • Urology
  • Internal Medicine
  • General Medicine

Additionally, all three campaigns provided ultrasound services, triage, and pharmacy, where attendees received free medications and guidance on health promotion. Blankets were also given to each family to help them cope with the cold wave currently affecting these high-altitude areas.

We deeply thank our partners in this campaign for joining our cause to bring relief and hope to the most vulnerable.
