With a firm commitment to improving health and well-being in the areas of greatest need, the Wiese Foundation carried out the successful comprehensive health campaign “We Are Together for Your Well-being.” This initiative exceeded its initial goal by 10%, providing more than 4,500 medical services to 1,100 people in Chocope, Roma, Cartavio, and Magdalena de Cao, in the Ascope province.
The initiative included three fixed-location campaigns that brought essential medical services and preventive actions closer to families in vulnerable situations, strengthening public health in the La Libertad region.
Over three days, experts in general medicine (713 consultations), pediatrics (330), obstetrics (313), and laboratory services (663 glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride, and hemoglobin tests) served with precision and dedication. Additionally, 1,100 triages were recorded, and medicines were dispensed to 1,395 people, reflecting comprehensive and accessible care.
In total, 1,843 services were recorded in Roma, 1,594 in Cartavio, 1,077 in Chocope, and 91 in Magdalena de Cao, with the latter focusing mainly on oncological screenings.
The League Against Cancer joined this effort, performing 303 free screenings for breast, cervical, thyroid, lymph node, and skin cancer in the four localities visited, and provided awareness talks on the importance of preventive check-ups. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) joined the campaign by providing complementary services such as vaccinations, visual acuity evaluations, HIV screenings, and full chest X-rays, strengthening the health impact of the event.
As part of the preventive component, women between the ages of 40 and 69 who received care were registered to continue their preventive breast cancer check-ups through bilateral mammography screenings, thanks to a strategic alliance between the Wiese Foundation and the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (IREN Norte).
The Wiese Foundation deeply appreciates the valuable support of ADRA Peru and the League Against Cancer, as well as the commitment of all the professionals and volunteers who made this campaign possible.
Their joint effort brought comprehensive and preventive health services closer to hundreds of families, reaffirming that when we work together, well-being reaches more people.
