Chef Renato Peralta brinda mentoría a emprendimientos sociales

Gastronomic Director Renato Peralta provides mentorship to a social undertaking of Wiese Foundation

Renato Peralta is a chef, a baker and the gastronomic director of Civitano, a holding company from Grupo Wiese, which currently owns the brands of important chains of restaurants in Peru and Chile. He has an extensive experience and has been part of the growth of various gastronomic endeavors, which, in the last months, have had to adapt –and reinvent themselves– due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We are coming out of it little by little.  I am sure that if we had stayed paralyzed, as several restaurants did, we would have ended up closing down. We had to clear our minds and boost creativity in order to create new brands.  Besides, we have fitted accordingly almost all of the restaurants managed by the group”, stated Renato, who added that, due to the pandemic, almost all of the gastronomic businesses had to go back humbly to their beginnings, with home deliveries and using boxes for their products.

Renato Peralta gets to know Empanacombi

Renato Peralta was invited by Wiese Foundation, within the framework of its Entrepreneur Fund program, in order to provide mentorship to Empanacombi, a social undertaking whose value proposal consists in including in its labor force persons with different skills.

I have always been searching for a social project that has a different reward. At first, I didn’t know about Empanacombi, but thanks to Wiese Foundation I learned how it works and who are part of it, and I was amazed when I learned about the spirit of the founders, Carlos Sánchez and Cinthya Rodríguez, who are true warriors”, stated Renato, who had the opportunity to visit the Empanacombi workshop and to notice that it was small, but that the place where they prepare the high-quality products was very well organized.

Entrepreneur Fund: gastronomic mentorship

The mentorship that Renato Peralta provides to Empanacombi is related to the consultancy throughout the production chain and not only the gastronomic aspect, in order to achieve the long-awaited commercial expansion. He pointed out that getting to know its founders, its products, as well as its vision for the future, enabled him to share with them marketing and sales strategies.

I help them in every sense and, if they need something special, I can get the person who can help them; for example, regarding how to develop a new product or how to improve any production process”, said Renato, who predicts that next year Empanacombi will be able to generate new and better products, to be present in more important restaurants and, therefore, reactivate its economy, which will allow its commercial development.
